Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has played down speculation linking teenage sensation Nathaniel Clyne with a move to Wigan Athletic.
It was reported over the weekend that the Premiership outfit were getting ready to table a £1m bid for the talented youngster in the summer, with Steve Bruce having watched him last week against Derby and his friend Stan Ternent said to be casting his eye over him at Doncaster on Saturday.
Warnock has previously stated he does not want to sell Clyne in the summer and will instead build his team around him for next season and warned Wigan they would have to up their bid substantially to have any hope of landing the 17-year-old.
"It wouldn't buy his shoelaces," he said.
"I don't think there's anything in that speculation."
Clyne has been one of the biggest positives of the Eagles season and looks set to scoop the Eagles Young Player of the Year award at the end of season awards night on May 16.
The right-back only signed a professional deal in October the day after making his debut against Barnsley, before going on to make the position his own this season, notching up 29 appearances.
