Billie Barbour and Francesca Mead both aged 13 from Wandsworth joined thousands of runners on Sunday 26th to run the Adidas Mini London Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Francesca chose to run for Macmillan after her grandfather was supported by them during his cancer.

Susie Meade, Francesca’s Mum said: “Billie and Francesca both ran good race times yesterday in the London mini marathon and raised over £220 for Macmillan! It was a glorious day and a really wonderful atmosphere for them.”

Freya Marshall, Fundraiser for Macmillan said, “Francesca and Billie are real role models for other young people in Wandsworth. They decided to do something for Francesca's grandfather and stuck to it! They have not only raised money for Macmillan they have helped to raise awareness. Thankyou Francesca and Billie!”

Macmillan Cancer Support are trying to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer. We provide practical , financial and emotional support to people with cancer and their families. We don’t receive any government funding to do this, it all comes from people like Francesca and Billie deciding they want to make a difference!
