ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED, THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS
MAYO ROAD AND PRINCESS ROAD, CROYDON
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate a sewer connection they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrian and vehicular traffic movements in Mayo Road and Princess Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place no person shall:-
(a) proceed along the public footways of:
1) Mayo Road, the south-west side, from a point opposite the north-western flank wall of No.20 Mayo Road to its junction with Princess Road;
2) Princess Road, both sides, from the party wall of Nos.86 and 88 Princess Road to its junction with Whitehorse Road;
(b) cause any vehicle to proceed in Mayo Road, between its junctions with Northbrook Road and Princess Road;
(c) 'At any time' waiting and loading restrictions will be introduced in:
1) Mayo Road, both sides, from the north-western flank wall of No.20 Mayo Road to its junction with Princess Road;
2) Princess Road, both sides, from the party wall of Nos.86 and 88 Princess Road to its junction with Whitehorse Road.

3. Whilst the Order remains in force the alternative route:-
(a) for southbound traffic displaced by the closure of Mayo Road will be via Pawsons Road, Queens Road and Princess Road;
(b) for northbound traffic will be via Princess Road, Queens Road and Pawsons Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 18 May 2009 and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 4 weeks. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
(Pedestrian access will be maintained where possible)
