A burglary prevention scheme has been launched offering free discount vouchers to help Lambeth residents buy home security products.
Some 3,480 homes and businesses in the borough were a victim of burglary in 2008/9, according to the latest statistics.
As part of a £20m Government campaign to focus on reducing burglary and related crime, residents can get advice packs telling hem how to prevent burglary, and discount B&Q and Focus vouchers to help beef up home security.
Bolts, padlocks and timer switches are available from £2.
Tessa Jowell, MP for Dulwich and West Norwood, and Chuka Umunna, Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Streatham, were at B&Q in West Norwood on April 17 to promote the scheme.
For an advice pack and vouchers call 0800 456 1213.
