Lydia-Rose Mills is getting ready for her coronation as Banstead’s May Queen on Saturday, May 2, when she will become the 25th girl to hold the title.
She will be the star of the procession that starts at 11.30am at the United Reformed Church in Woodmansterne Lane, Banstead, and heads up the High Street and into The Orchard where the annual May fayre will be held after the formal opening at 12.30pm by the mayor, Councillor Roger Newstead.
There will be stalls, sideshows and entertainment for all, and pupils from local schools will stage a display of country dancing.
Money raised will go the Royal Marsden Hospital.
Woodmansterne will have joint May queens this year, Sarah and Katie Reddington, who will be crowned by the mayor on Bank Holiday Monday, May 4 on Woodmansterne village green.
