A search for gardening displays brightening the borough kicked off in Manor Park with the launch of the Sutton in Bloom 2009 competition.
Times Square Toby, a costumed dog, joined Mayor Dr Brendan Hudson and last year’s best front garden winner Jean McNicholas for the launch event.
Over the next two months, residents can submit entries in categories including best community garden, best business frontage and best school garden.
Winners will receive garden vouchers and certificates of excellence, and may be put forward to represent Sutton at London in Bloom.
Entry forms are available from borough libraries or by calling 020 8770 5070.
