The revolving door at Crystal Palace may need extra WD40 this summer with some frenzied transfer activity on the way at Selhurst Park.

Most of that is likely to be with players on their way out, with as many as 18 possibly heading for the exit door as Neil Warnock attempts to trim the squad of some of its deadwood.

Already confirmed as leaving are James Scowcroft, Carl Fletcher, Scott Flinders, David Wilkinson, Jamie Smith and James Dayton while John Oster, Shefki Kuqi, Paul Ifill and Rhoys Wiggins are all out of contract and could move on.

Anthony Stokes, Claude Davis and Rui Fonte will all return to their parents club and it looks increasing unlikely they will sign permanently.

So that's 13 players already and they are only the out of contract ones and the loans.

I also expect Alan Lee, Simon Thomas and Johnny Ertl to leave if the club get good enough offers, while Julian Speroni could attract some interest and a Premier League move may be hard for him to refuse.

Danny Butterfield may also go in a bid to play permanent football having lost his place to Nathaniel Clyne.

That is of course if the Eagles don't receive an outstanding offer for Clyne.

No one at the club will want to lose him but anything over £4m may be too tempting to turn down and the same can be said for Victor Moses and Sean Scannell.

So who does that leave us with then?

I make it (believing that we won't sell the three youngsters) 17 players: Matt Lawrence, Clint Hill, Shaun Derry, Paddy McCarthy, Jose Fonte, Nick Carle, Neil Danns, Victor Moses, Nathaniel Clyne, Sean Scannell, Darryl Flahavan, Lee Hills, Calvin Andrew, Nathaniel Pinney, Kieran Djilali, James Comley and Kieron Cadogan.

If all that come to pass then no doubt we will be making some moves to bring people in too, particularly when you note the youngsters and lack of experienced forwards in that list.

So who knows, we may have an entirely different squad to get behind come August.
