Neil Warnock was pleased with his side’s performance after they became only the second team to beat Swansea City at home in the league this season, and the only club to have done the “double” over the newly promoted outfit this campaign.

“It was always going to be hard against a top side that had only lost once at home," he said, "but you can’t help but play football on such a superb pitch.

"A bit of quality from Victor Moses put us in front and we went on from there.”

Warnock also took time to single out individual players for extra praise.

“There were some great moments for us," he said.

"Julian Speroni made a match winning save when it was 2-1, Anthony Stokes never gave it up on the back post when he was waiting for his header which helped us get the second goal and Shefki Kuqi deserved to get a goal for all his efforts.

"I don’t think I have seen a player work as hard as he did today”

Warnock also revealed that he has already turned his attentions to next summer as he looks to build a team that is capable of winning promotion to the Premier League; “We are in a transition period at the club, money is tight and we have to go with the kids but it is a challenge and we showed against Swansea what we can do against a top side.

"I am going to have to make drastic changes to the squad and hopefully take advantage of some signings and we will see how things go from there.

“I have some great youngsters at the club who I want to give a chance to and they can get eight or nine games before the end of the season they can only learn from that.

"Apart from those who we have already put in the team I have another couple who I want to give a game to in the next few weeks which will help us prepare for what we want to do next season.

“At my age I haven’t got many seasons left and I want to be in the play-offs so it’s frustrating where we are at the moment.”
