In Fond Remembrance of INGE LOWENSTEIN 1920 - 2009

Inge passed away peacefully in St Raphael's Hospice on 18th February 2009

She arrived in England from Germany in 1939 at the age of 19. Whilst initially working as a Nanny, she learned English from her charges. Sometime during this period, Inge discovered that she had lost both her parents and her older sister in the Holocaust.

She studied nursing and midwifery and ended a very successful career at St Mary's Hospital Croydon in the position of Matron. When Inge retired in the mid 70's, she left her nursing accommodation and took a flat in Blenheim Gardens, Wallington. Inge had 35 very happy years in Wallington and was loved and respected by all those that knew her.

Her favourite pastime was playing Bridge with her friends. She supported many charitable causes throughout her life.

At her request, Inge was cremated at Hoop Lane Crematorium, Golders Green. The service was attended by her cousin Carol her only surviving relative and her friends.
