Timmy Mallett is displaying his “utterly brilliant” art talents at an exhibition in Weybridge on Saturday, February 21.

The I’m a Celebrity star will be showing a selection of paintings created with is “mallett palette” at the Wycliffe Gallery between 1pm and 3pm.

The former children’s television presenter currently lives in Cookham, Berkshire, but will be in town for the exhibition.

“I’m really looking forward to this. I’ve seen photos of the gallery and it looks lovely. I’ve been showing my art up and down the country and to discover it’s actually quite popular is a bit oo-er missus,” he said.

He has always been interested in art, following in the footsteps of his father who was a keen painter.

"There wasn’t a lot of time for painting during Wacaday but I’d always take my paints on trips and people would love it. They’d know they would have time for tea and cake if I got the paints out.

“I love the creativity of it. If you’re going to be a writer then write. If you want to be an actor then act. It’s more solitary than performing but just as enjoyable.

He spends his afternoons painting with acrylics and finds inspiration in everything from photos to the recent snow.

“During my time in the jungle they would give us meal, which was actually half a dozen carrots, and it came wrapped in paper bark. I actually took that home and used it to give texture to trees in my paintings. It looks really authentic.

“I’ve done some local scenes of Weybridge and the Thames but I don’t want to say where because it will better if people try and guess what they’re based on."
