Darryl Flahavan has been ruled out of Crystal Palace’s trip to Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday after losing all his teeth and breaking his nose in a reserve fixture.

The keeper was involved in a collision towards the end of the Eagles 2-1 victory over Aldershot’s reserves on Wednesday night and had to be replaced in goal by defender Hakeem Adelakun.

The Eagles number two will now not be able to travel with the squad to Cornwall and will be replaced on the bus by Scott Flinders.

Palace manager Neil Warnock said: “The kid should have got sent off, he went right through him and knocked all his teeth out and broke his nose.

“He won’t be able to come with us on Tuesday now, Scott will come instead.”

Flinders may even feature on the bench at Home Park after Warnock revealed earlier in the week that first choice Julian Speroni would have missed last Saturday’s game against Barnsley with a groin injury, though he is expected to be fit for Tuesday night.
