Expectant dads can now attend their own special classes to prepare themselves for fatherhood, thanks to St Peter’s Hospital in Kingston.
The dads-to-be classes, which has a strict no-mothers policy, started on Tuesday and will take place on the last Tuesday evening of each month.
Sessions cover everything from what dads can expect during the birth process, what is expected of them during the birth and how to change nappies, to how to wind a baby.
Rose Cooper, midwife parent education co-ordinator, said: “Naturally there is a lot of attention and information from experience that many expectant dads have things to discuss and questions to ask.
“We’re looking forward to answering the questions of the 2009 dads-to-be and helping them enjoy the experience of becoming a father.”
All unaccompanied dads-to-be are welcome at the parent education room in the Abbey Wing of the hospital. Classes start at 7.30pm and booking is not required.
