Key community issues can now be discussed at the touch of a button from the comfort of your own home - thanks to a new online petition service launched by Lambeth Council.
The new e-petition service, available on the council’s website, means residents can set up petitions for fellow residents to sign online and tell the council how the borough can improve.
The council hopes the e-petition facility will provide a simple way for people to engage in community issues, while increasing the visibility and transparency of the petition process.
Campaigners can provide background information so others can make an informed decision about whether to sign up.
Lambeth Council also plans to use e-petitions to get local people involved in their own campaigns to improve the borough, and has kicked-off the service by asking residents to put forward a view on the possible extension of the Northern line to Battersea.
