A Royal Navy recruit from Cheam is on course for a career at sea after completing his basic training at HMS Raleigh in Cornwall.
Joseph Hill, 24, a trainee engineering technician, will now start learning how to maintain the Navy’s complex electronic weapons system.
He said: “I joined because I wanted the chance to see more of the world. Training was really challenging. Learning to use a rifle and the assault was a highlight.”
The passing-out parade was a memorable day, especially having my family watching me. I hope I have a successful career and visit some great places.”
