Staines Prep Provides a Happy Foundation For Life
Whether you visit one of the classrooms, the sports pitch or playground at Staines Prep, you’re sure to witness contented children joining in with an enthusiasm you’ll only find in a school where enjoyment is an important part of the learning experience.
Founded in 1935, Staines Prep is the area's longest established co-educational school for children aged 2½ – 11. The school has a unique ethos, where each pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential within a secure, happy environment.
While proudly placed 108 in the Sunday Times Parent Power list of the UK’s Top 250 independent preparatory schools, Staines Prep focuses on far more than academic achievements. The children’s wider involvements in music, drama, art and sporting activities bring to life the true spirit of the school, helping to discover and nurture life skills that help each pupil to draw the utmost enjoyment from their time at school.
The school’s animated teaching stimulates the interests of the children, encourages personal research and fosters a lifelong love of learning. It aims to prepare pupils thoroughly for competitive 11+ entrance examinations to independent secondary schools and local grammar schools.
As headmaster Peter Roberts said recently, “It remains vitally important to focus on the whole child and provide wide-ranging opportunities that help develop their confidence and general well-being. At Staines Prep we provide all of this in a nurturing environment that enables the pupils to flourish.”
