Parking charges in the Ashley Centre could be increased by 10p even though the number of motorists using the multi storey car park has dropped by 5 per cent this year.
Tonight Epsom councillors are due to approve the increase at the risk of putting off shoppers from parking in the centre of Epsom.
Epsom and Ewell Borough Council expected to make £2.6m from parking charges this financial year but is on target to make just £2.4m.
Councillors have been asked by Epsom’s retail forum to return to a flat rate charge for parking in the town on a Sunday
