A new Aldi store is to be built in Ewell after the council's refusal to grant planning permission has been overruled.
The planning application to demolish six homes and business premises in Kingston Road, Ewell and to create an Aldi store with nine flats above it has been approved by a planning inspector after a public inquiry held last year.
The main objection to the scheme was the impact it would have on the heavily congested road.
There will be no further details of the store available from Aldi until next week.
