A new choir, formed after a conversation in a local pub hit the right note, is preparing to perform in Wimbledon.
Chamber choir Kantorei was formed by four friends who had the idea for the group while drinking at the Crooked Billet. Founding member Ben Revill said: “Ten more of our friends – the best local singers we know – also thought it was a great idea, and so we are hoping to prove our worth as a local chamber choir capable of high quality performances.”
Next month they will perform their debut concert at St Mary’s Church in Wimbledon Village. The event, set to take place on February 28, will feature performances of works by Henry Purcell and Vaughan Williams.
