A new youth club is due to get the seal of approval from former Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Janet Marshall.
Coun Marshall will officially open the new facility, within the Grange Park pavillion, on January 21, after it opened its doors to the pblic in December.
The centre provides a range of activities and services for young people in the borough ranging in age from 13 to 19 and is already proving popular.
Previously, the pavilion had been used only at weekends for local sports clubs. Following renovation of the building, the youth club sits alongside upgraded sporting facilities.
Dave Hill, executive director of children, young people and learners, said: “I’m delighted that the new youth centre at Grange Park is now open.
“We listened to what young people told us about what they would like to see in such a club and I’m confident that we’ve provided it here.”
