ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS
BRIGSTOCK ROAD, A23 LONDON ROAD AND RAYMEAD AVENUE, THORNTON HEATH
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate replacement gas main works in London Road they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Brigstock Road, London Road and Raymead Avenue.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:-
(a) the 'Red Route' parking bays adjacent to the A23 London Road, between Colliers Water Lane and Brigstock Road will be suspended;
(b) no person shall cause any vehicle proceeding in a north-westbound direction in London Road to turn right into Brigstock Road;
(c) no person shall cause any vehicle proceeding in a south-westbound direction in Brigstock Road to turn left into London Road;
(d) one-way working north-eastbound will be introduced in Raymead Avenue.

3 Whilst the Order remains in force the alternative route for traffic displaced by the closure will be:-
(a) in the case of 2(b) above, via the A23 London Road (northbound), around Thornton Heath Ponds, A23 London Road (southbound) and Brigstock Road;
(b) in the case of 2(c) above, via the A23 London Road (northbound), around Thornton Heath Ponds and A23 London Road (southbound),
(c) in the case of 2(d) above, via Colliers Water Lane and London Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 5 February 2009 and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out in 2 months. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
