www.croydon.gov.uk

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make a Traffic Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to amend the provisions of the Croydon (Off Street Parking Places) (No.2) Traffic Order 1991 to exclude heavy goods vehicles, including coaches from using Spices Yard Car Park, Croydon. All other regulations contained within that Order governing the use of the Off Street Car Park remain the same.

3. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, and of a map which indicates the area of land to which the proposed Order relates can be inspected until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the "Access Croydon" Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.

4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Community Services Department, Croydon Council on 020 - 8667 8229.

5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Community Services Department, 9th Floor, South West Side, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, CR9 1EN or by e-mail to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference CS/PS/JGH/7/A49 by 18 February 2009.

6. The Councillors for this Ward are David Fitze, Vidhi Mohan and Susan Winborn.

7. The proposed Order is intended to exclude heavy goods vehicles from the vehicles allowed to use Spices Yard, Croydon. The exclusion is necessary as a result of an increasing problem with fly tipping, travellers unlawfully camping and a minimal use of the lorry park.
