PROPOSED EXTENSION OF THE COULSDON 'RESIDENT ONLY' CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE AND INTRODUCTION OF 'AT ANY TIME' WAITING RESTRICTIONS.

www.croydon.gov.uk

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council propose to make Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be to extend the existing 'residents only' controlled parking zone and introduce waiting restrictions between 11am and 12 noon Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice in conjunction with a parking bay for use by resident permit holders only outside No.14 The Netherlands, Coulsdon and also to introduce 'At any time' waiting restrictions in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

3. Copies of the proposed Orders and of all related Orders, of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of the plans which indicate each length of road to which the Orders relate, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders were made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, at the 'Access Croydon' Facility, Ground Floor, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.

4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Community Services Department, Croydon Council on 020 - 8667 8245.

5. The Councillors for this Ward are Terry Lenton, Brian Udell and Chris Wright.

6. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Community Services Department, 9th Floor, South West Side, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, CR9 1EN or by e-mail to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference CS/PS/JAA/7/B1 by 18 February 2009.

7. The Order is intended to introduce waiting restrictions in The Netherlands and Woodplace Lane and a parking bay for use by resident permit holders in The Netherlands, Coulsdon as part of an extension to the 'residents only' controlled parking zone. This will provide a one hour off-peak waiting restriction which would deter commuter parking, prevent obstruction of driveways and also provide parking for residents without sufficient off-street parking facilities. The provision of 'At any time' waiting restrictions at the junction of The Netherlands and Wilhelmina Avenue would promote road safety by providing good sight visibility.
