Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock is looking forward to a reunion with striker Clinton Morrison - but hopes he has a bad day in front of goal.

Morrison left the Eagles in the summer to join Coventry despite being the club’s leading scorer last season after deciding not to sign a new contract.

After a slow start for the Sky Blues the 29-year-old has recently returned to form with three goals in his last three games but Warnock is hopeful that run stops tomorrow when the two sides clash at the Ricoh Arena.

“It will be good to see Clinton,” he said.

“He’s a character and he’s part of the club here and will never be forgotten but I just hope he has an off day in front of goal.

“You know that Clinton is going to get opportunities to score in every game because that’s Clinton.

“He hasn’t played much there but he’s got his chance the last few games and scored.

“Clinton feeds off goals and he would score double figures even for us but I thought he deserved a bit more respect than that.

“That’s why I told him which way we were playing this year and left it up to him, it made him think about the system we were playing and it doesn’t suit him.

“I would have still liked him in the squad but Clinton has got to be playing every week.”

Danny Butterfield, Alan Lee and James Scowcroft are all out with hamstring injuries for at least the next fortnight, while Neil Danns has an ankle problem and is unlikely to feature.
