Julian Speroni: Pulled off a few very good saves and kept Palace in the game. Man of the match more by default than anything else. 7
Danny Butterfield: Looked like he was playing with an injury throughout and couldn’t cope with Forest’s pace. 5
Matt Lawrence: Decision to take a touch on the goalline cost Palace a point and he struggled all night. 4
Paddy McCarthy: Earnshaw’s pace and movement troubled him and he looked unsettled. 5
Rhoys Wiggins: A few poor choices on his debut but got stuck in and was eager to impress. 6
Shaun Derry: Forest played around him in the first half and he went missing too often. 5
Ben Watson: Didn’t seem to like the cold. He looked tired and his set pieces were poor. 4
Nick Carle: Tenacious but did nothing going forward. Wasted a good chance in the second half. 4
Paul Ifill: His movement was not as good as it has been recently but he did try. 5
Victor Moses: Showed flashes of what he could do but it was only flashes. 5
Craig Beattie: Was injured and perhaps should not have played, looked off the pace. 5
SUBS:
Shefki Kuqi (Beattie, h-t): Great goal and it was good to see the belly flop celebration again. 6
Kieron Djilali (Carle, 67): Was brought on to attack the left back but he didn’t do it enough. 5
Johnny Ertl (Butterfield, 80): A few long balls but not much time to make an impact. 5
