A Chiswick resident has completed her version of the Tour de France by cycling more than 200 miles from the Tower of London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Tanya Seeley, 41, from Berrymede Road, set off on the three-day cycle challenge last Sunday to raise money for her charity Hope, which helps underprivileged children and young adults in Cambodia.

The charity is the brainchild of Mrs Seeley and her friend Joanna Owen.

They were inspired to start the charity after volunteering and living in Cambodia.

Mrs Seeley said: “Our experience in Cambodia left an enormous impression on us, far bigger than we had ever anticipated, and walking away with just memories and photos was never an option for either of us.

“Cycling was a major part of our experience in Cambodia, cycling anything up to an hour to get to one of the schools or orphanages where we were teaching.

“We know we can’t change the world but we also know a small amount of help will make a big difference.”

Having never done a cycle ride as challenging as this before, Mrs Selley has spent the past few months training with regular rides around Richmond Park.
