A one-minute silence was held at Barnet Football Club today in memory of a Croydon teenager who was stabbed to death.
Oliver Kingonzila, 19, was found with stab wounds outside the E Bar last Saturday and died shortly afterwards.
Mr Kingonzila had captained the Barnet under-18 team and the England Colleges FA in a match against Italy.
Barnet players are also wearing black armbands during their League Two match against Bury at the club's Underhill ground for Mr Kingonzila.
Earlier Barnet manager Paul Fairclough said Mr Kingonzila was a “a gentle giant” who was “keen and eager to be a professional footballer”.
An 18-year-old, Triston Burke, of Stanton Road, Croydon, has been charged with the murder.
