Firefighters are still tackling a massive blaze at a block of flats in Battersea.
Six fire engines are currently battling to contain the fire, which ripped through a fifth floor flat in Bullen Street just after 10am.
Crews had to use ladders to control the flames. One eyewitness said: “There were flames everywhere and now there is a big hole where the flat was. One man was taken out by the firemen and given oxygen, I don’t know if there was anyone else in there.”
Police have cordoned off the road and people living in the street have been told to stay in their houses because of fears of further explosions.
The eyewitness added: “There was a lot of smoke and we have been told to stay in the house in case there are any more explosions. I can’t go outside.”
