Racegoers can enjoy free entry to Kempton Park when they hop on their bikes and cycle to the course.

Employees from the Sunbury-based venue have launched their Green Travel Plan to highlight the benefits of cycling as a sustainable travel alternative.

Four employees, raced from home to work on Thursday, June 19, using different modes of transport to see who was quickest.

Marketing executive Helen Talbot jumped on her bike and cycled the seven miles from her home to work.

PA to the managing director Beverly Frith drove, whilst events manager Katrina Plant hopped on the bus and sales and account executive Zia Norville caught the train.

Helen arrived moments behind Beverly in the car, but ahead of Katrina and Zia.

She said: "I thoroughly enjoyed cycling to work in the morning. I feel fresher and more energised than when I travel to work using more customary commuter methods".

The racecourse is encouraging more people to get on their bike and do their bit for the environment.

Anyone who cycles to the Wednesday night fixture on July 2 will be admitted free.* A secure area will be provided for your bike during the evening.

*You will be required to wheel your bike through the entrance as proof of travel to the racecourse.
