Two parks enjoyed by Kingstonians of all ages have been given the ultimate accolade – a prestigious Green Flag award.
Richmond and Bushy parks were both commended for their excellence by the scheme, which recognises the best green spaces in the country.
The awards, handed out by the Civic Trust, mean parks have high environmental standards and strong links with the community as well as being safe, welcoming and well maintained.
Offering over 2,500 acres of park land, Richmond Park has already been designated a National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.
Both are part of the Royal Parks scheme and chief executive, Mark Camley, said he was "delighted" with the awards.
