A Twickenham park drew the crowds as pedal power was celebrated to launch National Bike Week.

A total of 700 visitors descended on Marble Hill Park on June 15 to take part in a range of activities, including smoothie making using a pedal system, a “bling your bike” competition for kids and an interactive test-ride area.

Richmond Council’s cabinet member for transport Councillor David Trigg said: “There was something for everyone – from total novices to passionate cyclists.

“It all reflects the council’s continuing efforts to promote cycling and other sustainable, healthy, modes of travel.”
