A Kingston solicitors office has donated 2,500 high-visibility jackets to schoolchildren across Surrey to help them learn about cycling.
Youngsters from St Mary’s Junior School in Sugden Road, Thames Ditton, took part in a pilot session on Tuesday, June 17, for the Bikeability programme.
It is hoped the programme, which encourages children to cycle to school, will be rolled out across 250 schools in Surrey from September.
During the 90-minute lesson, pupils learned how to check for traffic, use hand signals and complete right hand turns off roads near their school.
Lis Hughes, business development director at Howell Jones, said: "This is a terrific move to encourage safe cycling, cut pollution and give independence to the children."
