The annual Party on the Pier, held by the Chiswick Pier Trust was a splashing success for all who attended on July 20.

The day got off to a wet start with river dipping with the Thames Explorer Trust and taster sessions held by Chiswick Canoe Club. About 200 people took the opportunity for a free ride on the slipper launch Panache.

There was also another opportunity to see the entries in the Summer Magic photo competition. The Deputy Mayor of Hounslow Councillor Shirley Fisher arrived by water and was piped ashore by the Chiswick Sea Cadets.

The river-based charity aims to protect and improve access to the Thames and its associated buildings and waterside areas of special beauty, historical or architectural interest.
