Detectives investigating the double stabbing at a Feltham birthday party have appealed for help from witnesses who have still not contacted police.

Hounslow police said they have faced a wall of silence from some partygoers who may feel too frightened to come forward after violence erupted in Uxbridge Road just after midnight on Saturday, July 19.

A 21-year-old man was left fighting for his life after his attackers dragged him out of Hanworth Kebab House as he fled and stabbed him in the back.

A 16-year-old girl was also knifed in the stomach after gatecrashers arrived at the garage party which was advertised on a social networking site.

Detective Inspector Jeff Minns of Hounslow police said officers had spoken to about 20 witnesses and he was "very grateful" for their assistance.

But he added: "There are some witnesses who have not come forward yet and I am appealing for those people to come forward and assist me with this investigation.

"I know that people may feel frightened or that they may feel that because they were at the scene, they may be implicated one way or another.

"I know that a number of people were involved, however, many were bystanders and had no part in the use of weapons or violence.

"Knives are not clever, and it certainly does not make you big, have some respect for the victims and help me out."

Officers questioned a 17-year-old boy from Feltham and a 21-year-old man from Ilford following the attacks and released them on bail pending further enquiries.

Police have made no further arrests.

The 21-year-old victim is recovering from serious internal injuries and the teenage girl was treated for a minor knife wound.

D Insp Minns also urged any passengers on a bus that passed the kebab house to contact police.

He said: "We will leave no stone unturned in finding those responsible for this crime."
