A Streatham businessman has been charged with the murder of a 44-year-old.
Simon Clarke, 37, from Donnybrook Road, is due to appear at Greenwich Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of Simon Dean in Edgington Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A postmortem examination carried out at Greenwich Mortuary showed that Mr Dean died from multiple stab wounds, two to the upper body and one to the upper arm.
Mr Dean’s death shocked the community on Edgington Road, a quiet cul-de-sac.
Residents said they had heard the hysterical screaming of a woman, believed to be Mr Dean’s girlfriend, crying for help shortly before police and ambulance crews arrived at 3.40am on Sunday.
