A 21-year-old broke down in court yesterday as she told a jury she thought a worker at a Twickenham internet cafe was going to rape her.

The woman - who cannot be identified - told Kingston Crown Court she thought Anosh Ahmed, 31, of Harrow, was going to have sex with her at Cafe Coffee Day, in York Street, and was worried he was going to kill her.

She told the court, via a taped interview, she wanted to find somewhere to use the internet at about 5pm on February 24 and walked past the café but saw it was shut. Ahmed was outside and told her she could use the internet for a short time while he cleared up.

She said Ahmed kissed her on the cheek, began to touch her neck and prevented her leaving.

“I started yelling and struggling,” she said. “He told me he was going to kill me unless I was quiet.”

She said Ahmed pulled her into a disabled toilet at the back of the cafe and got her to the floor.

“His hands were all over me,” she said. “He was touching my face.

“He got me to the ground and got on top of me, I thought he was going to have sex with me. Part of me was worried that he was going to do violent, crazy things to me.

“He said ‘it’s OK, it’s just sex, you don’t want to die do you?’ and he was telling me it was OK because he was wearing a condom.”

She told the court Ahmed put his hands down her trousers and told her to take her clothes off.

“I was shaking and crying,” she said. “He put his hands all over my body.”

The court heard the woman unbuttoned her trousers and asked if Ahmed would let her go and he agreed.

She said when she was leaving Ahmed told her he know all about her and where she lived and she had better not tell anybody but she ran to a nearby pub and police were called.

Ahmed denies attempted rape and an alternative charge of sexual assault.

The trial continues.
