Crystal Palace starlet Victor Moses has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new four-year deal.

The 17-year-old has been rumoured to be the subject of a £1m bid by Arsenal over the weekend, but Palace have moved quickly to tie one of their most highly rated youngsters to Selhurst Park.

Manager Neil Warnock said: “It’s fabulous news.

“It follows hot on the heels of Sean Scannell singing a three-year deal and it just shows how the club and myself are committed to the youngsters and we don’t want another farce like the John Bostock saga.

“I think it shows the trust that the players have got in us at this moment in time as well.

“It’s important to them, and I told them this, that they play first team football rather then go to a top club and play for their reserve team. Their education is better off with us.”

The Selhurst outfit have been in discussion with the Nigerian-born winger for the past six weeks over a new deal, during which time he has been on international duty with England U19s in the European Championships in Czech Republic.

With fellow youngster Scannell also committing his future to the club, Warnock is tipping the pair to take the Championship by storm this season.

He said: “I think Victor will be instrumental in what we do this season. Both him and Scannell went away for the summer as boys and have come back men.

“They have not had a pre-season before like they have had with me this year.”

Moses inclusion in the squad in the second half of last season helped the Eagles push for a play-off spot. Playing on the wing in a three-man attack he scored three times in 16 appearances.
