A series of regular health walks are being organised by Croydon Council during 2002.
The walks are being held monthly, are free to join and form part of the borough's Active Lifestyle drive - a joint initiative involving the council and Croydon Health Authority, which aims to help prevent heart disease by encouraging local people to take up regular exercise and lead a healthier a lifestyle.
Farthing Downs in Coulsdon will be the focus for the first walk of the year on Tuesday, January 22.
Starting from Coulsdon South rail station at 2.05pm, walkers will follow a two-mile circular route accompanied by a Corporation of London warden.
Anyone interested in booking a place should contact the council's walking for health co-ordinator Harriet Murrell for more information on 020 8686 9215.
