Last weekend I had my birthday and I reached the grand old age of 28. I have to say I was rather spoiled.

Saturday, Holly took me up town to see the stage production of The Lord of the Rings and a dinner. The show itself is quite entertaining and you can clearly see a lot of time and money has been put into the production. For the meal, we went to this restaurant called “Sway”, where I had goats cheese for a starter and a burger as the main meal (for a change).

Sunday, while I am laying in bed enjoying the fact that I don't have to get up, my mum texts me at 9.00 to say “Its snow joke snowing on your birthday”. I tell Holly and she gets up, looks out the window and suddenly she's fully awake and over the moon at the snow outside. I'm a bit annoyed about this snow, as

a) I hadn't planned on getting up until at least 10.30 am

and

b) Last time it snowed, the snow melted and leaked through my roof in my MG and onto the leather seats – I then had to drive home from work with a wet bum.

I reluctantly get up and get myself together, to rid myself of the morning blues.

After 30 odd minutes, I remember its my birthday and Holly gives me my presents.

The first present I open is Beowulf on Blu-Ray. I then open a big shaped box which turns out to be a Nintendo Wii! She also got my Zelda: Twilight Princess!

Now this has just left me a little confused, as if you have read my last blog, you will know that I suffer a certain lack of attention to the world (and Holly) when I am engrossed in a video game.

This has lead me to believe that Holly secretly likes me not paying complete attention to her when she is talking to me.
