My second appointment with Kev! This time I bring my £90 Nike trainers with me. Within seconds they’ve been retired from the marathon and they’ve never even been within a mile of Blackheath. Kev suggest some new shoes and gets his magic hands to work on my heel again. There is no instant pain relief but his stories of injuries and problems that can and do occur for marathon runners gives me even more confidence he knows what he’s talking about. But still no running. Instead I’m cycling the five miles to work each morning and then taking a longer way home and cycling ten miles home. It’s not as good as running but it’s keeping my stamina and cardio-vascular exercises going. Getting very worried I’m slipping way behind schedule on running.
