Local youngsters and traders donned their costumes and stepped up on stage for the Surrey Street Market Christmas pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, this weekend.
The event took place at Folly's End Church, on the afternoon of Saturday, December 8, and the whole market was in festive mood with a Santa's grotto, the New Addington steel band, jugglers, and the town cryer all joining the parade. The Mayor of Croydon, councillor Peter Hopson was on hand to award prizes for the best outfits in the parade. One of the organisers, Surrey Street trader Rosanna Lovett said: "The funday was a great success. The children are our future customers and we want them to enjoy the vibrancy of the market now and in the future to keep our historic market alive."
