After two rain delays, Play B C Preschool’s annual sports day finally went ahead in style.

More than 60 children from the preschool’s Wallington and Carshalton settings gathered with their families in a nearby park to take part in a morning of races, games, and a lively ‘Colour Run.’

The event focused on the importance of outdoor activity, teamwork, and physical play, all in a fun and supportive environment.

Marsha Dann, founder of Play B C Preschool, said: "We were so determined to make Sports Day happen after postponing it twice, and we're delighted we waited. Seeing so many children and families enjoying the sunshine together made it all worthwhile.

"The Colour Run was definitely the highlight of the day, and it was wonderful to see the children encouraging one another, growing in confidence and simply enjoying being children."

Children took part in a variety of activities designed to build confidence and physical skills, while their families cheered them on from the sidelines.

One of the parents said: "Thank you for making these moments happen. Memories to last a lifetime."

The sports day also served a fundraising purpose, raising £700 through sponsorship. The money will be used to purchase new outdoor and sports equipment to support the preschool’s play-based curriculum.

Play B C Preschool offers teacher-led early education for children aged two to five. Its approach centres on high adult ratios, outdoor learning, and close family partnerships, with the aim of making “every day a learning adventure.”
