A woman in Belmont was rushed to hospital last night with 'life-threatening' injuries after being hit by a train.
The London Ambulance Service deployed an emergency team to Belmont Rail Station in response to the incident, which took place at about 5.18pm on Monday, June 29.
The injured woman received immediate on-site medical attention and was subsequently taken by road to a major trauma centre.
British Transport Police attended the scene of the accident which resulted in several train service disruptions.
A spokesperson confirmed the woman's injuries are being "treated as life-threatening."
They stated: "Officers were called to the line near Belmont railway station at 5.18pm yesterday (June 29) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and a person has been taken to hospital with injuries that are being treated as life-threatening."

The spokesperson also assured the public that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
The accident caused widespread disturbances to various train routes.
Southern Rail was significantly impacted last night, with services between Epsom, Sutton and London Bridge and London Victoria facing cancellation or delay.
A Southern Rail spokesperson stated: "A person has been hit by a train on this part of the network, and Southern are working with Network Rail and the emergency services to deal with this incident as sensitively, quickly, and safely as possible."
