Fried chicken chain Popeyes has announced plans to open a new restaurant in Kingston upon Thames, as reported by our sister title London Now.
The new outlet will be located on Clarence Street, bringing the brand’s Louisiana-inspired menu to the town centre.
Popeyes has expanded rapidly across the UK since launching in 2021, drawing national attention for its signature “Shatter Crunch” chicken sandwich and New Orleans-style offerings, London Now reports, where further details of the opening can be read.

The Kingston restaurant will feature Popeyes’ signature hand-marinated chicken, freshly-made buttermilk biscuits, and other menu favourites, all drawing inspiration from the flavours of Louisiana.
The opening is expected to create around 30 new jobs in the area.
Popeyes UK, known for its vibrant work culture, was recently named among the World’s Happiest Places to Work in 2026.

The Kingston branch will serve Popeyes’ full menu, including its signature "Shatter Crunch" Chicken Sandwich and iconic buttermilk biscuits.
Since launching in Britain, Popeyes has reported long queues and strong demand at multiple locations.
Crowds are also expected on opening day, as other sites have regularly seen queues around the block.
