A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing on a boat near a pub in Surrey.
Police were called to the incident near The Anglers pub in Manor Road, Walton-on-Thames, at around 5pm on Tuesday (May 13), following reports of an altercation involving a number of men on a boat.
A man in his 30s suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
A 27-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Multiple cordons remain in place around the area, with officers expected to stay at the scene while enquiries continue.
Inspector David Richardson, who is leading the investigation, said: “There is a significant police presence in the area tonight, including a police drone and the police helicopter, while we carry out our enquiries.
“While we have made an arrest, we are still seeking further information and we urge anyone who saw what happened, or with any other information, to come forward as a matter of urgency.
“We appreciate that the police activity may cause concern and distress amongst local residents, and we would like to reassure you that we are working diligently to establish the circumstances of what happened earlier today.”
