EE Limited has applied to upgrade an existing mast from 8 metres to 20 metres.
The mast is located at the Lime Tree Grove roundabout near Broom Road and Bridle Road, and the proposed increase in height could make it significantly more noticeable to nearby residents, London Now reports, where further details of the application can be read.
The new mast is planned to come with antennas and an equipment cabinet at its base along with extra cabinets and a GPS node.
Current equipment at the site would either be taken away or moved as a part of the works.
Plans suggest the mast will be at a residential part of Addington, so it seems likely to be visible to surrounding homes and public roads.

The application (ref: 26/00967/PA8) was submitted on March 31, and is currently awaiting a decision from Croydon Council.
While upgrades such as these are often pushed for by those wishing to improve connectivity, the jump in height could potentially bring concerns for nearby residents.
At the time of writing no public comments had been submitted.
Now, Croydon Council must determine if prior approval is required for the works, according to national permitted development rules for electronic communications infrastructure.
Telecommunications upgrades like this are often argued to be essential for improving mobile coverage and network capacity.
