The pub owned by Croydon's famous McKenzie boxing brothers has been closed following a drugs and gun raid at the premises last month.
The windows of McKenzie Bros bar and grill are boarded up with wood panels after Winston McKenzie decided to close the bar and gym he runs with his brothers indefinitely.
Mr McKenzie felt that the recent controversy surrounding his business, where 25 people were arrested in a police swoop, was the ideal opportunity to close the building for refurbishment.
Mr McKenzie, who has not been arrested or charged in connection with the raid, issued a statement through his official spokesman Marianne Bowness, who said: "There is repair work that needs doing and he is awaiting planning permission for other things."
