A Post Office has reopened in Croydon at a new location, restoring services to the area, as reported by our sister title London Now.
The new Crossways Post Office began operating on March 30 from Crossway Food & Wine, 2 Crossway Parade on Selsden Park Road.
It replaces the previous branch at 3 The Forestdale Centre, which closed in April 2024 following the resignation of the operator and the store’s subsequent closure, London Now reports, where further details of the reopening can be read.
Simon Grant, Post Office area change manager, said: "We are delighted to have restored a Post Office in the Crossways area of Croydon."
The relocation brings services back to the area and provides 98 hours of service per week, with the branch open daily from 8am to 10pm.
Post Office services available at the new site include everyday banking for personal and business customers, cash withdrawals and deposits, mail services, home shopping returns, bill payments, and "Euros on demand."
The site is located just 230 metres from the former branch and is accessible via mostly level terrain.
Time-restricted roadside parking is available, along with a disabled parking bay outside the branch.
Local buses serve the surrounding area.
The new branch offers level entry, a hearing loop, and space for a wheelchair.
The Post Office network is the largest retail network in the UK, operating more branches than all banks and building societies combined.
An estimated 99.7 percent of the population lives within three miles of a Post Office branch.
Of the more than 11,500 branches, 97 percent are run with retail partners on an agency or franchise basis.

The Post Office also operates the UK’s largest fee-free cash withdrawal network, with coverage through branches and more than 2,000 cash machines.
Ninety-nine percent of UK bank customers can access their accounts through the Post Office.
In addition, the Post Office offers a wide range of services including savings, insurance, loans, mortgages, government services, telephony, foreign currency, travel insurance, and mail options.
The new Crossways branch is housed within a convenience store.
