A south London predator who sexually abused three children over a "prolonged period" has died in prison.
Meekumar Issory, from Mitcham, was jailed for eight years and nine months for child sex offences in 2018.
The prison watchdog has now revealed that Issory died in custody at HMP Rochester on January 25 this year at the age of 82.
The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman is investigating the death.
In 2018 he pleaded guilty to digital penetration, sexual assault by touching, causing a child to watch pornography, exposure, and possession of indecent images.
His three victims were all female and under the age of 13.
When he was sentenced, DC Kyla Mulley said: "The victims were abused by Issory at a very early age.
“I would like to pay tribute to the victims who have helped us put this despicable sex offender behind bars.
"I hope the conviction gives the victims a measure of comfort and closure.
"Issory is a prolific sexual offender and it cannot be discounted that he has sexually abused other people.
