A 22-year-old man has died after a hit-and-run crash in south London.

The incident between a car and a moped happened in Wood Street at the junction with Horse Fair, Kingston just after 11.35pm yesterday (February 7).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found the rider of the moped injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, described by police as dark-coloured, failed to stop at the scene.

Police enquiries are ongoing to trace them.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information, including dash cam footage, to call police on 101 quoting CAD 8352/07FEB26.
