A person has been taken to hospital after a stabbing near a park in Carshalton.

The incident happened in High Street near Grove Park just before 1.50pm today (January 27).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a male injured.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is unknown at this stage.

We have contacted the Metropolitan Police for further information.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.53pm today (27 January) to reports of a stabbing in the High Street, Carshalton.

“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated one patient at the scene and took him to hospital by road.”
